Asides

# Spent the last few days making Christmas cards, don't think I have actually completed one yet but have quite a few half completed!!

# Finally pulled my finger out and got some walking boots, after trying mountain climbing with canvas shoes it really was time to invest in some decent boots for all the walking I am going to do.

# Saw Mamma Mia last week - really don't know what all the fuss was about I thought it was dreadful.

# I was surprised that Lee McQueen won The Apprentice, I really did think that Claire had it in the bag but then again if what I have heard about both finalists working with Sir Alan Sugar for six months before he makes the decision is true!

Another trip

I got up my mothers yesterday to be told that the road outside had been closed for most of the day. It seems that in the early hours of Monday morning a taxi driver had driven over what they thought was some rubbish bags on the road, well these “rubbish bags” turned out to be a local 17 year old boy! As you can imagine there has been loads of local gossip about what could have happened and the condition of the boy, I have not seen anything on the local news about it yet but that does not really surprise me as things tend to be very slow around here.

Picked another way to get to my mothers today and it surprises me how much things change, I have spoken about this recently but it is something that I seem to come back to and that is how the children of today have different things to distract them. As I was walking past my old school I looked at the hedgerow that as a child was littered with access points which lead to a secret places, these are all overgrown now and nothing but a distant memory, oh the kids today really don’t know what there missing.

For those brainy visitors to the site you may want to test your knowledge about Planet Earth. I love these quizzes that the BBC do every so often. With this one I got a respectable score of 43 out of a possible 65 which is the average mark, anyone taking the quiz feel free to leave a comment with your score.

I should also wish Arienne a very happy birthday for today.

    Hi Lee
John here, thought I would try and post a message again after speaking to you Saturday.
Totally off topic, but what the hell!
    Hope this works.
