# Spent the last few days making Christmas cards, don't think I have actually completed one yet but have quite a few half completed!!

# Finally pulled my finger out and got some walking boots, after trying mountain climbing with canvas shoes it really was time to invest in some decent boots for all the walking I am going to do.

# Saw Mamma Mia last week - really don't know what all the fuss was about I thought it was dreadful.

# I was surprised that Lee McQueen won The Apprentice, I really did think that Claire had it in the bag but then again if what I have heard about both finalists working with Sir Alan Sugar for six months before he makes the decision is true!

Enchanted - Review

The last few years there has always been a big film out that I tend to go and see on Christmas Eve, with no Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings movie out this year I was a little uncertain what to go and watch. In the end it turned out to be the latest film from Disney, Enchanted.

Enchanted The idea behind the film is how would fairytale characters survive in the real world. So the film starts off in the animated world with what I can only describe as traditional Disney animation that would would have found in many Disney films of yesteryear. Nice narration by Julie Andrews which sets the story up and just gives you that warm fuzzy feeling you used to get from watching these films. We are introduced to Giselle (played by Amy Adams) who is waiting for her Prince (James Marsden) to come along and take her away which is all very politically correct these days! Would you believe at that moment a Prince just happens to be in the area and hears Giselle singing, they meet and arrange to marry the next day.

Of course in any Disney fairytale there is always a wicked witch/stepmother and Enchanted is no different, played by Susan Sarandon, who appears in animated form for much of the film. The queen does not want her stepson to marry as she will have to step down as queen so on the day of the wedding she magically transforms into an old hag and pushes Giselle down a well which transports her out of the animated world and to New York city.

Once In New York Giselle meets up with a divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who after some persuasion from his daughter decides to help Giselle get home, unaware of where she comes from. Of course the feelings between them grow and at the end everyone is happy - but what else would you expect from a Disney film.

It was an interesting film and don't think there was anything better I could have watched but this will not be one that I would get on DVD.
