Asides

# Spent the last few days making Christmas cards, don't think I have actually completed one yet but have quite a few half completed!!

# Finally pulled my finger out and got some walking boots, after trying mountain climbing with canvas shoes it really was time to invest in some decent boots for all the walking I am going to do.

# Saw Mamma Mia last week - really don't know what all the fuss was about I thought it was dreadful.

# I was surprised that Lee McQueen won The Apprentice, I really did think that Claire had it in the bag but then again if what I have heard about both finalists working with Sir Alan Sugar for six months before he makes the decision is true!

MOT failure ‘08

When a car reaches a certain age you expect things to go wrong with it and the older a car is the more unlikely it is to pass an MOT test. (All cars over a certain age have to undergo a yearly test) Last year was the first year that my car failed its MOT and the reason for this failure as I mentioned in an entry last year was "because of excessive corrosion on the sill where the seatbelt is anchored" The alarm bells should have started ringing then but for whatever reason I did not take any notice of them.

Which might go someway in explaining why my car has again failed its MOT because of excessive corrosion, this time however it was not limited to just one spot but six areas on the underneath of the car. I am trying not to think of the cost of having all the welding work done but needless to say the car has come to the end of its useful life and I will need to make serious provisions to change my car. Changing my car was already something I had planned on doing for my 101 things list so will have to give that a higher priority.

Well as for now the car will be having the work it needs doing done tomorrow and hopefully by Wednesday it will have an MOT certificate for the next twelve months and I will only have to worry about the running costs and any maintenance until I change the car.
