# Spent the last few days making Christmas cards, don't think I have actually completed one yet but have quite a few half completed!!

# Finally pulled my finger out and got some walking boots, after trying mountain climbing with canvas shoes it really was time to invest in some decent boots for all the walking I am going to do.

# Saw Mamma Mia last week - really don't know what all the fuss was about I thought it was dreadful.

# I was surprised that Lee McQueen won The Apprentice, I really did think that Claire had it in the bag but then again if what I have heard about both finalists working with Sir Alan Sugar for six months before he makes the decision is true!

The Apprentice 08

Four weeks in to the new series and only now do I find the time to write anything about The Apprentice currently on Wednesday evenings at 9pm, watch again on the BBC iPlayer.

Sir Alan SugarThis time around the tasks that the teams have to do complete seem to be a lot more intense and involved, but maybe my memory is being selective when trying to remember what hoops the contestants had to jump through last time. I call them contestants as we should remember this is more of a game show than a job interview, there is only one job available so I think it is a little unfair to put people who are competing against one another in teams in which they have to work together to win the task as you will always get people who have a game plan, and tend to discreetly undermine the project leader so when the time to face Sir Alan in the boardroom arrives there is a prime target to get fired.

I know that when it comes to editing footage the production company will always edit it in such a way that makes for good television so it is hard for us, the viewers to really get to know the real contestant instead seeing the ruthless type of contestant that the production company wants us to see.

So last night we saw Simon Smith get his marching orders and typically you would expect the person in charge to go and this is one of the reasons you don't see everyone eager to be project manager, as that is a role that guarantees you a place in the boardroom if you fail the task. He lost the task and the main reason given was down to the fact that they could not get the products to the customers or they used the wrong photos meaning they were not getting the money. One thing I did find odd is that the other team who got a David Beckham look a like spent only marginally more, so it left me wondering how Simon managed to spend so much money?

There are a few contestants who have managed to remain in the background while everyone else fights it out but who will be the next to get FIRED!
