This multi award winning drama first aired as a spin off from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2002. In the States the premiere took the highest ratings for drama in eight years. Its highest accolade though must come from its audience, which has now seen CSI: Miami into a fourth series, with no sign of slowing down. Set in Miami, Florida, and following a tight-knit team of forensic investigators led by Lieutenant Horatio Caine (David Caruso), CSI: Miami is a distinctive blend of police work and science using both to pursue justice for those who cannot speak for themselves – the victims. Episode synopsis Episode One - “Lost Son” A CSI goes down in the line of duty when a kidnapping investigation goes awry. Episode Two - “Pro Per” A drive-by shooting, Miami-style, leaves a ten year-old boy orphaned and puts Salas in the line of fire when Horatio places the boy in her care. Episode Three - “Under the Influence” A woman is pushed in front of a moving Metrorail train and both her boyfriend and his stalker ex-girlfriend are suspected of her murder. Calleigh Duquesne’s father’s latest bender might make him a hit-and-run killer. Episode Four - “Murder in a Flash” A flash mob erupts on a private golf course – were the students there to hide a body . . . or leave one? Episode Five - “Legal” Miami’s club scene turns deadly when underage drinking sparks a bloody murder in a bathroom stall. Episode Six - “Hell Night” A jury field trip to the scene of a murder flips the legal tables when the defendant ends up dead and the twelve jurors become the prime suspects. Episode Seven - “Crime Wave” Miami Beach is evacuated for an approaching tsunami, but the CSI team remains after discovering a bank robbery plot while investigating a seemingly random murder. Episode Eight - “Speed Kills” A “Speed Dating” night for Miami singles turns deadly for one South Beach stud who finds himself on the wrong end of a tire iron. Episode Nine- “Pirated” A string of dead bodies, found off the coast of Miami, turns out to be the work of modern-day pirates. Episode Ten - “After the Fall” An innocent man is killed when someone falls on him from a third floor balcony and finding out how it happened leads the CSI team into the centre of a high-level sex and murder scandal. Episode Eleven - “Addiction” A seemingly random carjacking turns out to be anything but when a young woman’s gambling addiction becomes more than the family business can support.
