Episode Guide - Season One
I have tried to give basic outlines of each episode without giving too much away, such as who committed the crime but don’t read any further if you have not seen season one as you might find a spoiler or two. 1.1 Pilot Grissom investigates a suicide victim that leaves behind a tape recorded note, the voice on the tape however isn’t his. Warrick and Nick both compete to solve their 100th case while Catherine comforts a sex crime victim. Holly Gribbs joins the team as the rookie CSI. 1.2 Cool Change Brass returns to homicide and Grissom becomes head of the CSI unit and brings in Sara Sidel to help with the Holly Gribbs case.Grissom and Nick take the case of a man who kills himself hours after winning a $40 million slot machine jackpot. 1.3. Crate & Burial Grissom, Nick, and Sara must find the kidnapped wife of a millionaire buried alive in the desert before she dies. Catherine and Warrick investigate the hit and run death of a young girl. 1.4 Pledging Mr. Johnson Grissom and Catherine investigate a case of adultery when a woman's severed leg is found in a lake. Sara and Nick investigate an apparent suicide at a fraternity house. 1.5 Friends & Lovers Grissom and Warrick take the case of a young man who is found naked in the desert without an obvious cause of death. Catherine and Nick investigate the gruesome killing of a Catholic school dean. 1.6 Who Are You? Grissom and Nick investigate when a female skeleton is found buried in the foundation of a house. Using forensic art they are able to search for answers and the truth. Catherine violates department protocol when she takes the case of her ex-husband, who has been accused of raping a stripper. 1.7 Blood Drops (a.k.a. If These Walls Could Talk) Grissom and his entire team investigate when a teenager and her young sister are the sole survivors of the grisly murder of their family members in a suburban neighbourhood. 1.8 Anonymous Grissom thinks a serial killer is responsible when a body found in a bathtub is arranged in the exact fashion as a previous corpse staged to look like a suicide. (Pilot) The case is complicated by the fact that the killer is well versed in forensics, and has left staged evidence. Nick and Warrick investigate a car crash with no driver. 1.9 Unfriendly Skies Grissom and his team investigate the death of a passenger on a flight to Las Vegas. The team must interview the remaining passengers, but their accounts contradict the evidence. Was it self defence or murder? 1.10 Sex, Lies and Larvae Grissom and Sara investigate a bug infested body of a woman found in the desert. Warrick and Catherine look into the theft of valuable artworks; while Nick examines a missing woman's car after it is found near a bus station. 1.11 I - 15 Murders Grissom and Catherine must piece together the clues left by a serial killer who is targeting women along the I-15 interstate. Despite a personal conflict, Warrick is paired with Sara on a robbery-homicide case. 1.12 Fahrenheit 932 Grissom investigates the case of a man convicted of arson and the murder of his wife and child. Meanwhile, Catherine and Nick listen to the brother of a murder victim confess to his killing despite the evidence suggesting otherwise. 1.13 Boom When a bomb goes off in the lobby of a Vegas business building, Grissom's chief suspect is a security guard who left minutes before the explosion and makes bombs as a hobby. Nick spends the night with prostitute Kristy Hopkins and becomes the prime suspect when she's found dead. 1.14 To Halve and to Hold When a single human bone is discovered in the desert, Grissom and Catherine must assemble the pieces of the skeleton. Warrick and Sara investigate the death of a male stripper. 1.15 Table Stakes Grissom investigates a husband and wife con team after a woman turns up dead in a swimming pool of the house they are looking after during a fund raising party. Warrick Takes on a homicide that appears to be a professional hit. 1.16 Too Tough to Die Sara gets personally involved in the case of a woman who is abducted from a mall parking garage, then raped, beaten, shot and left for dead. Nick and Grissom analyse the crime scene. Catherine and Warrick help the DA with a case involving a shooting between two neighbours that goes to trial in four days. 1.17 Face Lift When Grissom and Catherine investigate a body found in a pottery store after a robbery, they discover fingerprints at the scene from a twenty year old kidnapping case. Sara and Warrick look into a case where a woman burned to death in her home, which Sara believes is a case of spontaneous human combustion. 1.18 $35K O.B.O. The investigation of an apparent carjacking/homicide involving a couple leaving a restaurant on their anniversary is complicated when a rainstorm compromises the crime scene. The plot thickens when the car is found and it becomes a new crime scene. Catherine looks into the collapse of a city owned residence that kills three elderly women, and comes into conflict with the district engineer. 1.19 Gentle, Gentle A child's parents are suspect when the team investigates the infant's kidnapping. 1.20 Sounds of Silence A vehicular-manslaughter case becomes a murder investigation when Grissom discovers that the victim was already dead before being run over. The team gets a frosty reception while interviewing the administrator and fellow students from the victim's school, a facility for the deaf. Catherine and Nick investigate what may have been a professional hit that leaves five dead in a coffee shop. 1.21 Justice is Served Grissom, Nick, and Warrick initially believe that a wild animal in the park killed a jogger, until they discover that his organs were removed with a scalpel after his death. Catherine and Sara investigate the death of a six year old girl inside an amusement park ride. 1.22 Evaluation Day On the day Grissom has to evaluate his team, the police discover a decapitated head in the trunk of a stolen car. Coincidently, Sara and Nick investigate a headless corpse, while Warrick looks into a murder in a juvenile detention centre and attempts to help the only witness. 1.23 The Strip Strangler The sheriff removes Grissom from the case of a serial killer who strangles his victims when the FBI join the case and he objects to their plan to plan to use Sara as a decoy to trap the killer.
