Episode Guide - Season Three

I have tried to give basic outlines from each of the episodes of season three and hope I have not given too much away but don’t read any further if you have not seen season three as you might find a spoiler or two.

Season 3


3.1 Revenge is Best Served Cold

When a gambler suddenly drops dead in the middle of a high stakes poker game, it doesn't take Grissom long to figure out the death wasn't due to natural causes. Meanwhile Catherine and Nick are called to a deserted airstrip out in the desert to investigate the death of a street racer in who has been shot.

3.2 The Accused is Entitled

A film star is under investigation for the murder of a one nightstand, and his lawyers will stop at nothing to cast doubt over the evidence collected by Grissom’s team.

3.3 Let the Seller Beware

An open house becomes the scene of crime when the two owners are found dead. With plenty of suspects the team have to examine all the evidence and follow it to its conclusion. Sara investigates the death of a cheerleader, which appears to have some cannibalistic overtones.

3.4 A Little Murder

Grissom and Nick investigate the case of a dwarf who committed suicide at a Little People's convention, however the hanging may not have been suicide. Catherine is sent to investigate an apparent home invasion.

3.5 Abra-Cadaver

A volunteer at a magic show mysteriously disappears and that the magician may be behind the crime and soon discover that not all is what it seems. Catherine and Nick look into the apparent suicide of a rock star while on tour, which may have been staged by his other band mates.

3.6 The Execution of Catherine Willows

A serial killer gets a stay of execution so that evidence collected by Catherine fifteen years ago can be re-examined using the latest DNA tests. Could Catherine's testimony have put an innocent man on death row? When a new victims murder has a similar M.O the team must re-examine the cases to discover the identity of the killer.

3.7 Fight Night

Grissom, and the team investigate the brutal world of boxing when two boxers with bad blood between them enter the ring and the loser is pronounced dead. Meanwhile, Catherine and Nick investigate a 'smash and grab' at a jewellery store, which soon turns into more than a simple robbery.

3.8 Snuff

The team are called in by a film developer who alerts the police to a snuff film which shows the death of a porn actress, they have no idea who she is, where the movie was shot or who shot it. They also investigate the death of a young man with Down's syndrome, who worked at a riding stable, and turned up dead, his skeleton covered with fire ants.

3.9 Blood Lust

When a taxi driver accidentally runs over a teenager who runs into his path an angry mob beats him so badly that he dies. The team soon discovers that the car may not have been what killed the teenager.

3.10 High and Low

When a body falls from the sky the team have to work out if he jumped off the building or was pushed, with only a tattoo to begin there investigation. Catherine meanwhile is called to a scene of a shooting which finds her involved in a neighbourhood feud.

3.11 Recipe for Murder

When a chef from a local restaurant dead at a local meat packing plant the team discover that more than cooking was going on in the kitchen. The second case tackles a young woman whose disturbed personal history makes her a perfect candidate for suicide - or murder.

3.12 Got Murder?

When a human eyeball is discovered in a birds nest the team have to work out whom it belongs to and where the rest of the body is, which leads them to a woman who was reported missing and has turned up dead. A salesman on Dr. Robbins’ autopsy table who has died of a heart attack suddenly comes back to life!

3.13 Random Acts of Violence

When a child of Warrick's former mentor is killed in a drive-by shooting, Warrick lets his emotions wrongly lead him to assume a suspect is guilty. A second case involves the team investigating the murder of a man at an Internet company who was hated by all his employees.

3.14 One Hit Wonder

Catherine investigates a peeping tom whose violent attacks are beginning to escalate as he is now breaking into women's apartments. Sara reopens an old case in which a colleague's husband was murdered and she was crippled, but the killer was never apprehended.

3.15 Lady Heather's Box

When two male escorts turn up murdered Grissom is lead back to the world of Lady Heather. Catherine meanwhile becomes personally involved when her ex-husband, travelling with their daughter, is involved in a car crash and vanishes. Sara is in charge of the investigation, but Catherine wants quicker results.

3.16 Lucky Strike

The episode revolves around the kidnapping of the 5-year-old son of a professional basketball player and it is up to Catherine and Warrick to track the kidnapper. Grissom and Nick meanwhile work on an odd case where a man stumbles out of his car and dies - from a wooden stake rammed into his head.

3.17 Crash & Burn

An elderly woman drives her car into the front of a restaurant killing three people and injuring many others including Sara’s boyfriend. While Sara is rocked by his injury at first, she soon manages to work the case in her usual professional manner. But her emotions begin to get the best of her once again as she learns disturbing news about Hank's presence in the bar. Elsewhere, a woman dies of carbon monoxide poisoning while her husband slept next to her, and Grissom quickly decides it was no accident.

3.18 Precious Metal

When a decomposed body is discovered in a sealed chemical waste drum the investigation leads the team to the highly competitive world of battle bots. A dead man is also found in a dumpster, and Greg is let out of the lab into the field to assist with the investigation.

3.19 A Night at the Movies

A man is murdered with a screwdriver stabbed into the back of his head in a theatre during a noisy gunfight scene and a teenage boy is shot to death in a hail of bullets in a warehouse and his own brother may have been involved.

3.20 Last Laugh

When a popular stand up comedian dies on stage the team are called in to investigate the circumstances of the death. Brass convinces Nick and Sara to reopen an accidental death case where a woman died in her bath after seeing that her husband has a flashy new car with a trophy date on his arm.

3.21 Forever

When a horse trainer is found dead in the hold of a private jet. Initially, it appears the victim was trampled to death, but Grissom and Catherine uncover evidence of foul play. Sara and Warrick investigate the apparent Romeo and Juliet double suicide in the desert.

3.22. Play with Fire

The body of a woman is discovered in a broadcast booth at a high-school football field, apparently the victim of strangulation. The evidence leads investigators to two convicts, one of whom is still in prison. At the lab, an explosion in the DNA lab destroys key evidence.

3.23 Inside the Box

Three masked robbers steal a safe deposit box during a daytime heist during which a member of the CSI team is shot and killed. Evidence leads Catherine to casino owner Sam Braun, her long time mentor and father figure. Grissom can no longer hide the fact that his hearing has deteriorated.
