Very quick entry as the stupid computer has messed up my disk, I really hate these library computers as I seem to go though so many floppy disks it starts to get annoying.

Today I changed some money getting euros and also some travellers cheques so that I will have money to spend next week and also took a look around for some bits and bobs that will no doubt come in handy for the trip.

I spent most of yesterday out with the delivery man at work, something which the manager did not like but she told him that if he ever needed help delivering for us then someone from the shop would go with him.

Ask Me A Question?

I finished off Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban last night and started on the Goblet of Fire, of course I have read both books before and only wanted to refresh my mind before going to the cinema to see the latest film and thought I would take this opportunity to re read the fourth book again.

I shall be answering the questions I have been Asked in the next couple of days, so if anyone wants to ask me some more questions feel free to do so - I will not be offended if you want to ask some sensible questions!

Another day has gone which means one less day to go before I am heading off to Spain and I still have so much to organise. Last night I got some antiseptic cream as I am starting to get a little concerned about my foot as last week it was really painful when I walked as a blister had burst and after a few days it started to feel better and the hobbling had stopped, yet it is starting to flare up again and I have a fear that it will become infected and I don’t want to have a repeat of what happened to my toe.

Ask Me A Question?

To think this time next week I will be well and truly on my way to Spain, it seems like such a short time ago that I was asked if I wanted to go and got the money together. It is frightening how fast life seems to be passing me by.

Yesterday I ended up talking about friends with the manager at work, a strange subject to get onto and there was a heated exchange of ideas as she thought it was strange that I was calling people I had never met “friends” she seemed to think that I should call them acquaintances as they are nothing more than pen pals. We then got into a discussion about how you define the difference between an acquaintance, friend, good friend and best friend and she did put up a good argument, she asked me how many of my “Friends” would worry about me if I was ill? Sticking on the same line of thought I asked myself, as I have done on previous occasions how many people would spend more than five minutes wondering where I was or what had happened to me if my site just disappeared and they did not hear from me for months?

My room has become “messy” again I really don’t know what happens to it, I tidy up and for a little while everything has its place and everything is in its place and the next time I look everything is a shambles! The majority of the mess seems to be old newspapers, I found one going back to April the other night when I was looking for my passport and instead of binning them while at work I always take them home with the idea that I will recycle them, they do get recycled but it seems to take me forever as I will bag them up and take them to my car and they get left there for ages.

Wednesday I will have to get some money changed to Euros, not sure how much I shall change at the moment will have to wait and see how much money I have to spare.

Ask Me A Question?

I saw Van Helsing last Thursday, I thought it was about time I got back into my habit of going to the cinema as much as possible and over the last few months for various reasons I have not been going. About the film, did not really know what to make of it, I suppose it was okay and I would get it when it comes out on DVD - not sure if that has anything to do with Kate Beckinsale however! When I think of Van Helsing I remember the old Hammer Horror films with Peter Cushing as Van Helsing. Troy is on at the local cinema this week so I am hoping that I will get the chance to see it later this week. Harry Potter will have to wait until I come back from Spain, I think I may dig the book out and read it again just to refresh my memory before seeing the film.

Kelly came into the shop on Friday to collect some furniture which we still had out the back for her, it is hard to believe that it has been six months since she left at times it seems a lot longer, almost like another lifetime but then again a lot has happened during the last six month regarding work. I think Kevin is right about what he has said to me about Kelly in the past!

The hosting for my domain ends in a few weeks and I have noticed for one reason or another faults with the site, nothing major just things not getting updated as often or ideas which have been half finished. I was looking at how much space I am using and was surprised to find that the site as it is at present including the fanlisting I run barely takes up seven percent of the total space I have available so I thought it was about time I finished off some of the pages on this site and finally move my local site to this domain, so I shall begin work on that over the next few weeks.

Ask Me A Question?

I had an absolutely fantastic weekend at the stag night and wedding and as with anything good it seems to go by so quickly. It is Wednesday now and I really don’t know where all the time has gone since I travelled down to Ringwood on Friday afternoon. We were camping near Winchester on the Friday night as part of the stag party, just the twelve of us and by the time I got to the camp site the other had already set up the tents but had neglected to set up the gazebo which was suddenly remembered as the heavens decided to really let rip with a heavy shower, you know what they say about too many cooks spoiling the broth, well the same can be said about people setting up a gazebo!

I shall talk more about the weekend later, I have a feeling that this will be a pretty long entry so I shall try and keep things flowing smoothly. Work was tiring yesterday something not helped by the fact that I was stilled knackered after the weekend and a sure sign of how exhausted I was could be seen by the lip sore I have, I did get medication on Monday night but when I opened the box I discovered nothing inside so expecting a confrontation at the shop I took the empty box back. No need to worry they just told me to get another one and I was on my way, hopefully after a few days and a lie in this morning I should be back to my normal chirpy self in no time at all. In less that two weeks I shall be in Spain which is rather worrying as I don’t think I am ready to go yet so I had better get that sorted. No one has Asked Me A Question? for ages which is why I am linking that section again and also the Mystery Movie Game has been quiet over recent weeks so try your luck with that.

It was so windy on the beach taking this photo, you have Nathan, Kate and myself. (17k image)

The rain did not dampen spirits or the barbeque and we were soon eating and sitting around the camp fire, I only wish I had remembered to bring a jumper or my coat which I had left in my car but needless to say we sat up talking and drinking into the early hours before retiring to our tents.

Saturday was a lot nicer and more importantly it had stopped raining for the activities that had been arranged for us, as not all of us wanted to do the same activities so the we were split into two groups. I was in the group doing the "high ropes" course along with Nathan (the groom), Chris, James and Andrew, while the other group decided to chicken out of that and do the clay pigeon shooting instead. Both the groups did the quad bikes and kayaking.
I enjoyed the quad bikes and would defiantly do that again, even if I did nearly end up the same way as Ozzy Osbourne and as soon as I got in the kayak it flipped over and I ended up in the lake (I was also slightly wet!) but I dragged myself back out and tried again with similar results. My third attempt was much better as I managed to stay afloat for more than twenty seconds and I told the instructor to leave me alone to get use to the thing before I ventured out any further from the edge of the lake. We did the high ropes course first which I think was for the best as this was the one activity that I enjoyed the least, no I am not scared of heights if I was I would never have gone 40ft up in to the trees and walked from tree to tree on wires. It was a very tiring activity and worked muscles I never knew I had!

Ask Me A Question?

Well the weather has managed to stay pretty good this past week and this type of weather always brings out the best in people, have I fooled you of course not what I really mean is this weather brings out the best in women as they don't cover up as much!

I only hope that it stays like this for this weekend as I shall be at a wedding on Sunday and taking part in the traditional stag night activities on Friday and Saturday, well Friday will be mostly taken up with travelling down to Ringwood in Hampshire where we shall be camping on the Friday with the Saturday involving such activities as canoeing, I will not more about that for the moment as this is already looking like a rather long post and no doubt I will have loads to say about the weekend afterwards.

I feel like a right criminal mastermind as I have diddled one of my credit card companies out of £7.57, how did I do this? Well got my statement and noticed two payments had been made to ASDA in Llanelli and I could only remember paying at the main checkout as I had no reason to stop at any other department to pay for anything separately so contacted my card issuer to get more details about when the amount was taken and to find out if I had signed for it, they decided that it would be too much hassle for such a small amount that they would just credit my account with the money so a result. Of course how I diddled them was later when I was explaining to the people at work what had happened I remembered that I had bought something at a specialist counter within the store, at the pharmacy I had bought some medication for my hay fever. I have decided to be honest and will phone them back and ask them to re-add the amount onto my account, as they say honesty is the best policy.

Talking about hay fever mine has really started to play up over the last couple of days and this is even after I use my nasal spray, I am to much of a baby to use eye drops and I have a problem with tablets and don’t even get me started on injections!

I really will have to spend sometime working on my car today I am going to change the air filter if not just give the old one a clean before the weekend, I had hoped to do it last Wednesday but as I had free access to the internet at my mothers I spent all day and nearly all night online so got very little else done. I cannot do the same today, as I want to be out of the house early on Friday and have a ton of ironing and packing to do before going to the wedding. I had to laugh last week as I had Yahoo messenger running in the background and you know those instant messages you get asking you to click on the link if you want hot action well I got a similar type of message and always reply back for a laugh, normally nothing happens but this time I got a shocked reply it did not take them long to recover and offer “Cyber Sex” and all you have to do is enter the site use your credit card for adult verification! Do they thing people are stupid or sad enough to fall for such a scam?

I really don’t know what to make of Big Brother, this idea of having two of the contestants evicted to the bed-sit and watching the other housemates is pretty good and should cause some friction when the two are finally returned to the house. It could have been a lot better if the two housemates were not Emma and Michelle who are not two of the stronger contestants, we shall have to see what happens next.

I can’t believe that in less that three weeks time I shall be in Spain, I really don’t know what has happened to the year it seems to be passing so quickly and I hate to say it but it will soon be Christmas

My internal body clock woke me up just before 8am this morning so instead of using the time to catch up on my sleep I decided to start cleaning my room, something that I started at the start of May and sort of never really finished. I think this sudden urge to tidy up was helped by the fact that I dreamt that the landlord was going to help me clean my cupboards and at the moment I would rather he not enter the room so I gathered all my old newspapers and they are all in a bag waiting to go to the recycle point and I think in future I will have to remember to leave them in my car and not take them home. Well got to get going as I have a load to do today.

Happy birthday to Marie and Tone.

Ask Me A Question?

Another day off work and yet it feels like another wasted day, I was up early this morning and got my hair cut in preparation for the wedding which is just over a week away and also while in town (don’t know why I say that as I live in town) I called into WHSmiths to get a wedding present to find that it was nearly £6 more expensive than buying it off the internet, I asked the sales assistant if this price was correct and was told that the website http://www.whsmith.co.uk was normally cheaper than the shop. So I got my magazines and went up to my mothers as they have gone away visiting family so I have been online all day trying to catch up with friends and I did order the book and will have it delivered free to the Carmarthen store in about 5 days when they already have a copy of it on the shelf.

I had hoped to spend this afternoon working on my car, or at the very least checking the oil and water levels and maybe even change the air filter, does not look like I will get the chance to do that today but will have to get it looked at before travelling down to the wedding.
June was always going to be a hectic month and it looks like it will not give up just yet, I am still hoping to fit in a trip to Swansea to see the latest Harry Potter film I am just waiting to here back off someone to find out when she want to go and see it!

I have been busy watching the season 2 series of Stargate SG1 which turned up on Monday and found another online retailer who does not charge as much so when I eventually get the other series to complete the set I know where to shop first.

Having great fun at my mothers as they are showing Quantum Leap on the Sci-fi channel and that has to be one of my all time favourite television programmes of all time.

Since I upgraded the computer at my mother’s house it is a lot quicker which means it is well worth going online during my dinner hour at work. So a very quick entry to check my emails, I really will need to get my backlog of emails sorted out.

I am hoping to go and see the latest Harry Potter film soon just waiting to hear back from someone to see when they actually want to go and see it so then I can get things moving.

Well better get back to work as we are moving what feels like the whole shop around.

Was I disappointed with the lack of contact from my “friends” on my birthday? I don’t think so, in fact I had come to expect it and can only thank those that did remember and did take the time to send a simple email wishing me a happy birthday. I heard from people that I did not expect to and heard nothing of the people I thought I would but I am still the same person and am not going to let it eat at me. As I mentioned on Friday I finally got to see The Day After Tomorrow and will talk more about that in the extended section just in case anyone visiting the site has not had the chance to watch it yet!

Today is D-Day and we should all take some time to remember the sacrifices made by those troops to finally turn the tide against Hitler and his forces.

Kitten was booted off Big Brother, which was good as she was a complete waste of time and I do wonder why the producers decided to stick her in the house in the first place, they must have known that she would be trouble and not conform to any of the rules? This season is already flawed in so many ways so it will be interesting to see what happens next.

See the extended section for my Day After Tomorrow thoughts…

Finally saw The Day After Tomorrow last night and it was a great film, I thought there were some gaps in the plot and that is why it was only great and not fantastic. I shall talk more about what I thought of the film on Sunday.

Even the best laid plans can sometimes go wrong so it is no surprise that last night when we got up to Swansea the pizza place was full and we had to wait nearly an hour for food and then found out that everything that was being shown at the cinema had sold out so after food it was a trip back home and we shall go again tonight making sure that we actually book the tickets this time!

So its my Birthday and do I feel any different, of course not but then again I never have as far as I am concerned it is just like any other day but I would hope that my email inbox would be a little fuller!

It seems on Saturday night someone stole the money box off the shower at the place I live, I did wonder where the box had gone when I went to have a shower and today when I paid my rent the landlord asked if I had seen or heard anything - of course I had not but it makes me more concerned about letting anyone know how much electrical equipment I have in my room. I might have to set up a trap of sorts to electrocute unauthorised access.

The library computers are still not connecting to the internet and as much as I would like to complain I know that it would be pointless as it is a free service but it is still slightly annoying but at least I can use the computer at my mothers house.

It is going to be 60 years since the D-Day landings this weekend and the newspapers have been printing reports to mark this anniversary and I thought it was appalling that in a survey of people under 25 most of them had no idea what the anniversary was about with some not even knowing what war the landings were a part of. In schools the World Wars are part of the GCSE syllabus (with the exception of Welsh schools which look at Welsh history instead) so I never got to study this period of history but I still know about it.

I pulled one of the old work computers apart this afternoon and removed the memory and installed it in my mothers computer which was my old one with only 28MB of memory so the computer is running a lot faster with 128MB and the best thing is I did not have to pay for it.

This evening I shall be going up to Swansea to the cinema to watch "The Day After Tomorrow" and get something to eat beforehand, in fact I will have to get going soon to have a wash and get ready. I should be online tomorrow (depending on the library computers working).

Ask Me A Question?

“Seize The Day” and that is exactly what I did and I got a positive response back, I am not trying to be vague intentionally and am sure I will go into more detail as things progress but for the time being my lips are sealed. Spoke to Nathan the other night and got invited to his stag outing which is being held on his birthday which is on the 19th of June and the day before the wedding. Apparently we will be spending the night under the stars (Friday) and the next day will be filled with activities that are likely to kill me such as canoeing, racing dune buggies and swinging from trees or shooting people, unless I misheard that last activity!

Big Brother this year does have some fit women this time around, maybe they have learnt from past series and I do think the contestants would have. They would have a pretty good idea of the types of people who have won on previous years and how they acted in the house and in the case of the women realise how important it is to wear next to nothing!

My mother keeps asking me what I want for my birthday and I keep telling her the same thing, that I have no idea and it was a similar case when work did not know what to get me, at least they asked and did not just go out and buy something as quite simply I have everything I need and what I don’t have cannot be bought. In the end they got me a couple of games for the computer which were pretty good and I will get around to playing them one day. I took another computer from work but it does not look like I will be able to simply bypass the EPOS start up program and boot the computer into either DOS or Windows so I will open one of the cases up take the memory and upgrade my old computer AKA my mothers computer.

I had hoped to have posted the above last night but on getting to the library I was greeted by the all too familiar phrase “The internet is down” which of course means there network is down so no internet access, I did wonder why the computers were not all being used when I turned up it goes to show that nearly 100% of the computer use is being used for the internet! I was greeted by the same problem when I went to the library this morning.
